Every port had its various charms, not least the little spacedock orbiting Pol: a clean-cut place catering to an increased tourist trade since the Hegen Hub War, but riddled with too many cul-de-sacs to make shore leave boring. Boots ringing briskly on the deck, a gray-clad mercenary strode along one of the station's long halls, peering into open shops and deserted byways. An onlooker might notice captain's pips on the officer's collar, or how the casual gait was belied by a sharp, interested gaze.
