Rec Room

The wardroom, or rec room, is a place to connect.

[A sharp, ambiguous face appears on the directory screen; the voice is a curt, ironic alto.]

You've reached Bel Thorne. Leave me a vidcall or message here and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

[note: Bel is in cryo from May 9 to May 23, and messages received during that span will be answered after it.]

Please state the nature of the communication (video, audio, text, etc) in the subject line. Non-electronic communications can be directed to Bel's quarters (Nomo Deck, room #005), or left in Bel's shipboard mailbox. If responding to a Spacebook post, please indicate which one.

[Zam rolls her eyes at the pun. If she were in a better mood, she might retort that they have bigger fish to fry on the ship.]

Not that I know of. One’s younger, looks to be around twenty. Light complexion, brown hair down to about his shoulders, face is clean-shaven. The older one looked maybe in his thirties or forties. Also light-complexioned. Lighter and shorter hair than the other one, and a beard.

[Zam frowns when Bel says Amidala isn’t in the directory.] I saw her come out of the Ingress. Young human woman, brown hair, light skin… [She pulls up the directory on her own MID.] She could be using a false identity. She certainly wasn’t dressed like royalty when I saw her on Ceta.

[Bel’s next question nets a brief pause from Zam, followed by a sigh.] Jango hired me to kill her. He didn’t tell me who wanted her dead or why, just that there was a lot of money riding on it and there’d be “consequences” if I screwed up. [Zam just hadn’t been aware how immediate those consequences would be at the time.] She’s politically powerful back home, but she doesn’t seem like much of a threat physically. Might have those two Jedi watching her back though.

[Another pause, though this one brought on more by uncertainty than reluctance.] I don’t know. Jedi abilities aren’t exactly well-understood. [She tries to mentally sift through various rumors and speculation she’s heard.] I think they have to be talking to you to put ideas into your head. As for getting them out... I’m not sure. There are stories of Jedi sensing people on different planets, but I don’t know if there’s any truth to them. [A tense silence.]

At least if they’ve sensed me here, they haven’t come looking yet.
